Sam Amin is the founder, project manager and principal structural engineer of Integrus Engineering. Sam founded Integrus in 2015 after gaining over 20 years of experience in the property, industrial and energy sectors. Sam’s expertise is based in structural design, integrity engineering and project management with specialized knowledge in cold regions engineering, finite element analysis and modelling, structural investigations and repairs, and vibration and fatigue design.
Sam’s extensive portfolio of successful projects includes the design, project management and construction supervision of world-class, multi-use buildings and features, such as hotels, mixed-use towers, shopping mall extensions and water and landscape features. He has been a structural lead on several pipeline projects in Alberta, and has worked as a lead engineer working on gas plant expansions, compressor stations, and pulp and paper millls. He has also handled upgrading of bulk materials, industrial manufacturing plants and marine terminals.
Sam is proud to have been one of the main structural engineers on the design verification and construction supervision for Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest man-made structure of any kind located in Dubai, UAE. Sam was also the project manager and team leader for the design, coordination and construction supervision of Burj Dubai Tower Park, which is a 15 ha area with water and landscape features, roads, retaining structures, and ancillary buildings. He has also been involved in several prominent projects in Vancouver, BC, like the Georgia Hotel and Residences, Coast Hotel, and the False Creek – Olympic Village.
Sam is passionate about finding practical, cost-effective, and novel solutions to complex engineering problems, and is well known for his responsiveness and diligence. He has been repeatedly acknowledged and commended for his ingenuity and innovative problem-solving skills. He strongly believes in a holistic approach to every project ensuring that work is done right, the first time around.
Sam is a registered professional engineer in British Columbia, Alberta and Saskatchewan, a project management professional (PMP), a member of the American Concrete Institute and a member of the Structural Engineers’ Association of BC (SEABC). Sam holds a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and a Master of Science degree in structural engineering.
