Energy (Oil and Gas)

Facilities and equipment are often required to serve in harsh conditions as a result of environmental and operational factors. In order to keep these facilities and equipment in a fit-for-service condition, they need to be adequately assessed and maintained.

At Integrus, we provide practical and effective engineering solutions to help our clients monitor, assess and enhance the reliability and integrity of their assets and equipment. Below is a summary of the areas we often work in when serving our energy clients:

Upstream (Facilities)

  • Design/standardization of upstream multi-well pads and superpads for conventional heavy oil (API <22)
  • Design/standardization of liquids-rich gas multi-well pads with WHSIP exceeding 24 MPa, and highly erosive sand throughput
  • Waterflood and polyflood wellpad design, including water filtration and high-pressure injection systems. Filtration and pressure control schemes to avoid viscous fingering of slotted-liner wellbores
  • Water injection and disposal facilities
  • High pressure source water wells with Electro-Submersible Pumps (ESP’s)

Midstream & Downstream (Facilities)

  • Upgrades and modifications to plant equipment, coolers, compressors, pumps, boilers, separators, ventilation and flare systems etc. All aimed at, efficiency improvements, equipment upgrades and replacement
  • Static equipment (pressure vessels, towers, reactors, internals and trays, drums, stacks, tanks)
  • Fired and unfired heat transfer equipment (process fired heaters, water boilers, glycol heaters, steam generators, heat exchangers)
  • Rotating equipment (all types of pumps and compressors, steam and gas turbines, expanders, reciprocating engines, fans and blowers, gear systems, auxiliary systems for the above rotating equipment)
  • Retrofit, refurbishment, repair and alteration of the above equipment
  • Material selection for corrosion and erosion protection
  • Life cycle cost analysis
  • Emissions: Stack CEMS and NOx reduction for fired equipment, GTs, recip. engines, venting/combustion volume assessments
  • Stress analysis for new and existing piping systems relating to thermal and movement management
  • Equipment criticality rating to define the inspection and surveillance requirements during manufacturing.
  • Reliability and integrity engineering.
  • Temperature and vibration monitoring and analysis.
  • Equipment evaluation for repurposing
  • Equipment criticality rating to define the inspection and surveillance requirements during manufacturing

Pipelines

  • Gathering, transmission and distribution
  • Repairs and tie-ins for existing and new installations, design and specification (CSA Z662)
  • Pipeline decommissioning and recommissioning
  • Pressure regulation and metering stations
  • Design and installation support for surface facilities, valve stations, instrumentation additions etc
  • Pipeline segment relplacements
  • Remote valve and instrumentation systems for ESDs, instrumentation, maintenance and environmental issues (run-down volume minimization)
  • Crossings and expansion loops
  • Regulatory applications and amendments
  • Stress analysis and mitigation process

We pride ourselves in our ability to propose innovative and practical engineering solutions that take into account the operational, budgetary, scheduling, people and environmental challenges that our clients often deal with.
