Ian

Ian Parker, P.Eng

Senior Mechanical and Pipeline Engineer

As a mechanical engineer, Ian has experience with nuclear power plants, oil and gas production operations, environmental monitoring, pipeline engineering, facilities design and construction, plant detail engineering for new installations and existing equipment as well as work on tanks and rail loading and off-loading installations. He has undertaken many small and medium-sized plant maintenance and upgrade projects that run from heater installations, dehydration equipment design and performance improvement, separation system installations, incineration, gas handling and more. During a period of intense activity for fuel cell development and application, projects were designed and implemented for hydrogen recovery, purification and storage.

Ian was the Director of Engineering and Responsible Engineer for a major pipeline engineering group in Calgary during a period of rapid expansion and major project activity. His involvement included detail design for systems from NPS 6 to 42 Inch for gas and liquids in challenging terrain. He has also been involved with jet-fuel distribution (YVR), plant inlet facilities at a major gas plant, gas and oil gathering systems and the installation of valves on major long distance oil transmission systems. Ian also spent a number of years as test lab lead and design engineer for a cutting edge pressure swing adsorption gas purification group in support of the budding fuel cell industry. Ian currently holds Professional status in both BC and Alberta.
